The Mayor of South Tyneside is Councillor Richard Porthouse who is joined in
his civic duties by the new Mayoress, Patricia Porthouse.
Councillor Porthouse, who represents the Hebburn North Ward, has been married to Patricia for 44 years and the couple have lived all their married life in the Borough - most of it in Hebburn.
He is a member of the management committee of Hebburn Community Association, the Hebburn Sea Cadets and the South Tyneside Regional Equality Forum.
This year the Mayor of South Tyneside's three chosen charities are Cancer Connections, Great North Air Ambulance and Alzheimer's Society South Tyneside Branch.
