Reigning world champion is adamant he is not unbeatable, but at present there is no-one who can hold a candle to Vettel in his all-conquering Red Bull.
Taking the end of last season into consideration Vettel has scored five successive pole positions and won six of the last eight races.
In making it three out of four this season, Vettel has now opened up a 34-point gap to Hamilton, with Button 47 points adrift, which even at this stage is a considerable cushion.
With Vettel scoring 93 points from a possible 100, and given the resources available to Red Bull, there is already talk the championship could reach a swift conclusion this year.
"I don't have a fear that will happen, but it is a reality, it is possible - but it is also possible we could catch up and overtake them," said Hamilton, who is 34 points adrift of Vettel. "Then we might see at the next race they will have a bigger upgrade than us, and it will be the same again. But the gap is only a win and a bit, so for example if he doesn't have a good race in Barcelona and we win, we're back in the fight again.
He has a great understanding of how the tyres work, what he needs from them, what they need, and in Turkey he was very impressive."
Appreciating just how the new Pirelli rubber works would appear to be the main difference between Vettel and Webber, who has improved race on race in terms of result.
"Seb has adopted his driving style to suit the tyre, and Mark is getting better and better at that with more mileage," added Horner.
"We've seen them converging in recent races, and I expect that to be the case when we get back to circuits where Mark could be very strong.
"Right now we're fortunate to have two drivers of such quality in our team.
